Asiadog is a pretty great spin on the hotdog. I first had it almost a year ago at a cook off at the Bell House but remembering the taste was fairly impossible with all the other weird things I ate that day. So, when I saw them pop up in Madison Square Park Eats, I wanted to give them another go.

(On a side note, so sad that the Mad. Sq. Eats is closing down tomorrow. It’s such a great place to drink out side. Growlers from Nunu for $20!)

Asiadog without a doubt celebrates “NYC’s diversity.” While only seven options are available they all take a wild spin on a traditional street food by being topped with Asia-inspired toppings.

Among them is the Ginny with house made kimchi and nori flakes. I gave this one a try and it was a lot of fun and tasty! My cohorts gave the Mash a try – Sweet and spicy ketchup, jalapeno mustard + crushed potato chips. Besides being shocked that the potato chips were actually on the dog, they were pleasantly surprised.

Each dog is available with a beef, organic beef, chicken or veggie option. Asia Dog also offers a Korean BBQ style Bulgogi burger topped with Asian slaw or kimchi. One dog is available for $4.50 or you can get 2 for $8. (Organic beef is $5.50 or 2 for $10.) You can see the full menu here.

Asiadog is available at Madison Square Park Eats for one more day! They by far had the longest line in the square yesterday during lunch so get there early.

They are also at the Brooklyn Flea in Fort Greene on Saturdays and on Sunday in Williamsburg. They are also at the new Smorgasburg on Saturdays at the Williamsburg waterfront and at their new brick and mortar that opened up at 66 Kenmare Street.
